NOTICE OF BOND RELEASE
In accordance with KRS 350.093, notice is hereby given that Strata Mining, Inc. P.O. Box 962, Middlesboro, KY 40965 has applied for Phase II and III bond releases on increment number 1 of permit number 807-0301 which was last issued on August 28, 2008. The application covers an area of approximately 57.12 acres and is located 1.7 miles west of the city of Middlesboro in Bell County.
The permit area is approximately 1.5 miles northwest from Hignite Creek road's junction with KY 74 and located within the Hignite Creek watershed. The latitude is 36 degrees 38 minutes 10 seconds. The longitude is 83 degrees 48 minutes 30 seconds.
The bond now in effect for the permit is a surety bond in the amount of $78,900.00. Approximately 100% of the original bond amount of $78,900.00 is included in the application for release.
Reclamation work performed includes: Final vegetation establishment and was completed March, 2003.
Written comments, objections, and requests for a public hearing or informal conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Field Services, #2 Hudson Hollow, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601, by December 21, 2009.
A public hearing on the application has been scheduled for December 22, 2009 @ 9:00AM, at the Department for Natural Resources Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Ave., Middlesboro, KY 40965. The hearing will be cancelled if no request for a hearing or informal conference is received by December 21, 2009.
